Damien B. Donnelly returned to Ireland in 2019, having spent 23 years living and working in Paris, London and Amsterdam, where he worked as a pattern maker for various fashion brands. During those years he pursued his passion for writing, and in recent years, has had several poetry collections published:

Damien is also the founder, host and producer of the poetry podcast Eat the Storms, and editor-in-chief of The Storms, a printed journal of poetry, prose and visual art. His work appears in various journals, online and in print.  Damien is the recipient of two Agility Awards from the Arts Council, three Artist Support Schemes from Fingal Arts and a Full Bursary to attend the John Hewitt International Summer School 2023. He has been a poetry workshop facilitator for Fingal Libraries. 

Damien frequently curates and participates in literary festivals and readings and has been a guest in various national and international festivals. His work has featured in the media, including the RTE Poetry Programme with Olivia O’Leary and here, in Books Ireland Magazine where he reads a poem from Back From Away.

He is currently Creative Projects Coordinator of the Irish Writers Centre, Dublin.
